Dr. Thomas Caspritz is an experienced Gastroenterologist and Internist at Intus Specialist Health Care in Christchurch. He also works at Timaru Public Hospital and in private practice in Timaru.
With extensive international training, Thomas provides expert care in diagnosing and managing all food pipe, stomach, bowel, and liver disorders. He holds accreditation from the New Zealand Conjoint Committee for Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy and also performs advanced diagnostic procedures, including Video Capsule Endoscopy (PillCam) and Hydrogen breath tests. He is Clinical Lead and accredited Endoscopist for the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) in South Canterbury since 2020.
He was awarded the AGA Fellowship for accomplishments and contributions demonstrating personal commitment to the field of gastroenterology in 2020.
His practice focuses on thorough, patient-centred assessments and tailored treatment plans.
Outside of his medical work, Thomas enjoys spending time in the Marlborough Sounds, boating, skiing, and music.
