Dr Charlotte Hill is a Specialist Anaesthetist and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician based in Dunedin. She trained in New Zealand and Australia and has over 18 years’ experience in anaesthesia, including more than a decade as a consultant. She works across both public and private practice, with a focus on clear communication and helping patients feel informed and comfortable with their care.
Charlotte provides anaesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures across both public and private practice. Her approach is grounded in clear communication and a thorough, thoughtful approach to care, ensuring patients understand their options and feel comfortable with their treatment.
She is dual trained as a Specialist Anaesthetist and Specialist Pain Medicine Physician through the Faculty of Pain Medicine (ANZCA), and focuses on careful assessment and practical, tailored treatment planning.
Charlotte also works at Dunedin Hospital and has contributed to the development of pain services in the region, including previously serving as Acting Clinical Director of the Persistent Pain Service and Clinical Lead of the Acute Pain Service. She also supports anaesthesia colleagues across Otago, including Queenstown.
She is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Otago and is involved in professional leadership through the Faculty of Pain Medicine.
