Oesophago-Gastric Surgeon Recruitment

We’re seeking a Fellowship-trained Oesophago-Gastric Surgeon to join our growing surgical team. The position offers flexibility - full-time or part-time - with the opportunity to work across any combination of Christchurch, Wānaka, and Queenstown.

As an Intus Oesophago-Gastric Surgeon, you’ll have the opportunity to manage the full range of benign and malignant oesophageal and gastric conditions, perform endoscopy, and contribute to multidisciplinary patient care. You’ll be supported by an experienced team and work within an environment that values collaboration, innovation, and patient-centred excellence.

We also welcome applicants who wish to develop or expand a specialist interest - such as robotic surgery, upper GI cancer, reflux and functional disorders, bariatric surgery, or complex benign disease.

About You

You’ll bring:

  • FRACS (or equivalent) in General Surgery, with fellowship training or significant experience in Oesophago-Gastric Surgery

  • Registration (or eligibility) with the Medical Council of New Zealand

  • Proven endoscopic expertise and commitment to evidence-based practice

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexibility to work across Christchurch, Wānaka, and/or Queenstown
