Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes or repositions excess skin, muscle, and fat from the eyelids. It can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both.

As we age, the skin loses elasticity and the muscles supporting the eyelids may weaken. This can result in droopy eyelids, puffiness, and under-eye bags. In some cases, sagging upper eyelid skin can impair vision.
Your surgeon will discuss your goals and assess whether blepharoplasty is suitable for you.
You might consider this procedure if:
You have excess skin that hangs over your upper eyelids
You experience puffiness or prominent under-eye bags
Your upper eyelids interfere with your vision or make your eyes feel heavy
You want a rejuvenated look with natural results
What Does the Procedure Involve?
Blepharoplasty is usually performed as a day case procedure under local anaesthetic, sometimes combined with light sedation. General anaesthesia may be offered depending on the complexity of the surgery and your preference.

Upper Eyelid surgery
For upper eyelid surgery, a fine incision is made in the natural crease of the eyelid. Excess skin, and if needed, fat or muscle, is removed or repositioned.

Lower Eyelid Surgery
For lower eyelid surgery, the incision is made just below the lash line or inside the eyelid (transconjunctival approach). Fat is removed or redistributed, and loose skin may be tightened.

Post Procedure
After surgery, your eyes will be gently padded and you’ll be monitored for a short period before going home the same day.
