Face Lift

As we age, our skin loses elasticity and the underlying structures of the face shift. A face lift is a surgical procedure that lifts and repositions the deeper layers of the face to restore a smoother, firmer, and more youthful appearance.

People consider face lift surgery for a variety of reasons, including changes in facial shape, skin laxity, or a desire to look less tired or drawn. For many, it’s about feeling more like themselves when they look in the mirror.

Choosing a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon trained in aesthetics ensures that the procedure is tailored with both technical precision and artistic consideration - producing natural-looking results with minimal scarring.

What's Involved in face lift surgery?

A face lift is usually performed under general anaesthetic, sometimes with an overnight stay. The approach will vary depending on your anatomy, age, and goals.

Your surgeon will guide you through the process, from your initial consultation through recovery, helping you feel reassured and confident every step of the way. With careful planning and expert technique, a face lift can restore a refreshed, natural appearance that reflects how you feel inside.

The Procedure

During the procedure, the deeper facial tissues are lifted and repositioned to improve sagging in the cheeks, jawline, and neck. Excess skin is carefully removed. Incisions are typically placed discreetly around the ears and along the hairline to minimise visibility.

In some cases, a neck lift may be performed at the same time to enhance the jawline and tighten loose skin under the chin. Fat transfer or eyelid surgery may also be combined for a more comprehensive result.

Your surgeon will take care to avoid a “pulled” appearance by focusing on restoring natural contours and youthful balance, rather than simply tightening skin.
